The Group Stage of the UEFA Women’s Euro concluded on Sunday and the Netherlands, one of the strongest teams in the field, are already out. Now, the Quarterfinals kick off on Wednesday, with Norway vs Italy. There are some very intriguing matchups later in the week. On Thursday, Sweden, who were dominant in the Group Stage, take on defending champions England.
The next day, hosts Switzerland have a tough match against defending World champions Spain. Then, on Saturday, powerhouses France and Germany face off in the last Quarterfinal. For the first time in the tournament’s history, all four group winners managed to win their three Group Stage matches.
Still, there’s plenty of opportunity for upsets this week. Ahead of this week’s Quarterfinals, we’ll preview the matches and give our best soccer bet for each one.
UEFA Women’s Euro Quarterfinal #1: Norway vs Italy

- Date and Time: Wednesday, July 16, 3:00 p.m. ET
- Location: Stade de Genève, Lancy, Switzerland
- TV: FOX
Although Norway won all three games in the Group Stage, Italy (+145) are favorites to win this one. These teams met twice last year in Euro qualifiers and both matches finished all square. Italy did defeat Norway 2-1 at the 2022 Algarve Cup. However, Norway haven’t lost to Italy in a major tournament since 1997.
Norway conceded five goals in the Group Stage, which is the joint-worst defensive record of any remaining team. Still, they managed 2-1 wins over both Switzerland and Finland and a 4-3 win over Iceland. Norway’s star player Caroline Graham Hansen registered three goal contributions in the first two matches.
Italy weren’t great in the Group Stage, with a 1-1-1 record. They managed to pull off a 1-0 victory over Belgium in their opener, thanks to Arianna Caruso’s winner. Then, Le Azzurre drew 1-1 against Portugal and lost 3-1 to Spain.
Still, Italy have only lost one of their last six matches, in all competitions. Given these teams have played each other closely in each of their last few meetings, this is anyone’s match. Although Italy are favorites, we don’t trust that they’ll be able to generate a lot of chances in this match.
The best soccer bet on the odds board is Norway +205 and they’ve won their last two Quarterfinal fixtures at the UEFA Women’s Euro. Plus, they’ve got more attacking firepower with the likes of Graham Hansen, Frida Maanum and Ada Hegerberg.
Quarterfinal #2: Sweden vs England

- Date and Time: Thursday, July 17, 3:00 p.m. ET
- Location: Stadion Letzigrund, Zürich, Switzerland
- TV: FOX
Defending champions England finished second behind France in UEFA Women’s Euro qualifiers. France had England’s number once again as Les Bleues beat England 2-1 in the opening match of Women’s Euro 2025.
Still, Sarina Wiegmann’s side managed to get back on track with big wins over her home country, Netherlands, and Wales. England dominated Netherlands to the tune of a 4-0 victory and destroyed Wales 6-1 to finish in second place in Group D. England also managed the second-best goal differential in the Group Stage, behind Spain.
Lauren James, Georgia Stanway and Ella Toone all managed to score two goals for The Lionesses. Now, England take on Sweden in what should be a tough test for the defending champions.
Sweden are coming off a confidence boosting 4-1 win over a Germany side who picked up a red card midway through the first half. Germany were on a seven game winning streak prior to the defeat. Heading into this match, Sweden are on a five game winning streak and 12 game unbeaten run.
Stina Blackstenius and Lina Hurtig both scored twice in the knockout stage. With other top players like Kosovare Asllani and Fridolina Rolfo, Sweden won’t go down without a fight.
Although England defeated Sweden 4-0 in the Women’s Euro 2022 Semifinal, these teams drew twice in recent qualifiers. Even if it ends in an England extra time victory, we like Sweden +0.5 at -140 odds as our best soccer bet for Thursday’s match.
Quarterfinal #3: Spain vs Switzerland

- Date and Time: Friday, July 18, 3:00 p.m. ET
- Location: Wankdorf Stadium, Bern, Switzerland
- TV: FOX
In their last three meetings, Spain have outscored Switzerland by an astounding 17-2. Hosts Switzerland will undoubtedly have the crowd behind them on Friday but it’s unlikely to change much. Spain were the most dominant team in the UEFA Women’s Euro Group Stage and found the net 14 times in three games.
The World Cup winners also have some of the best players on the planet on their team, including Aitana Bonmati and Alexia Putellas. Switzerland may not stand much of a chance here but they’ll definitely want to keep things respectable.
In the Group Stage, Switzerland bounced back from a 2-1 loss to Norway to defeat Iceland, 2-0. Needing just a draw to advance, the hosts pulled it off by getting a 1-1 result against Finland. Unfortunately, Switzerland are no strangers to heavy defeats on home soil. They lost 6-0 in a friendly to Germany last year in Zurich. Spain also beat Switzerland 7-1 in Zurich in the UEFA Women’s Nations League two years ago.
So, don’t overthink this matchup. La Roja should win handily and we have no qualms taking Spain -2.5 at -115 odds as our best soccer bet for this one.
UEFA Women’s Euro Quarterfinal #4: France vs Germany

- Date and Time: Saturday, July 19, 3:00 p.m. ET
- Location: St. Jakob-Park, Basel, Switzerland
- TV: FOX
The best is quite possibly last as France take on Germany in a heavyweight bout. France have been on an absolute tear in 2025, with 11 wins from as many matches. They’ve beaten Norway (twice), Brazil, England and the Netherlands this year alone.
Germany lost for the first time this year when they fell 4-1 to Sweden in their Group Stage closer. Carlotta Wamser picked up a red card in the 31st minute and will miss this match. Regardless, Germany advanced with a second place finish in Group C with wins over Denmark and Poland.
Still, this is not the same Germany side that defeated France 2-1 in the UEFA Women’s Euro 2022 Semifinal. Former captain and striker Alexandra Popp retired from international duty last year. So, France are +115 moneyline favorites.
France coach Laurent Bonadei also made a big decision to leave out Wendie Renard and Eugenie Le Sommer from his squad but so far, so good. France scored 11 goals in their Group Stage matches and won all three games. However, they are yet to keep a clean sheet.
We wouldn’t at all be surprised to see both teams get on the scoresheet in this one and over 2.5 goals, at -130 odds, is our best soccer bet for the match.
