Ligue 1 Top Four Odds, Best Team to Bet on

With eight games remaining in the French Ligue 1 season, PSG are running away with the title. The Parisians are 19 points ahead of second-place Marseille and look poised to be champions for a fourth straight season. However, the top four race is far from settled. So, we’ll take an updated look at the Ligue 1 top four odds and share our best bet.

As things stand, seven teams have a realistic shot to claim one of the final three Champions League places. Remember, Ligue 1’s top three teams will go directly to the UCL group stage, while fourth place will have to advance through qualifiers.

That said, let’s take a look at the latest table as of the March international break.

Ligue 1 Standings

PSG, Marseille, Monaco and Nice make up Ligue 1's top four teams with eight games left.

Ligue 1 Top Four Favorites

Roberto De Zerbi has benched the controversial Mason Greenwood lately but he may need him to make the Ligue 1 top four.

Marseille are Ligue 1 top four favorites, at -1050 odds. However, they’ve lost their last two games and three of their last four. Before the international break, PSG took down Marseille 3-1 in Le Classique. It was Marseille’s seventh straight Ligue 1 loss to their rivals.

Even though Roberto De Zerbi‘s Marseille sit in second place in Ligue 1, they are just four points ahead of fifth-placed Lyon. There may be trouble brewing in the locker room, which wouldn’t be a first for a De Zerbi team.

He benched leading scorer Mason Greenwood against PSG for his “physical condition” and “attitude”. This is a situation to keep an eye on, as Marseille’s decision to bring in Greenwood received a lot of flack in the first place.

Regardless, Marseille’s final eight games aren’t terribly difficult. They also signed Amine Gouiri, who’s already provided four goals and three assists, in the January transfer window. It might be close but I expect OM to make the top four.

Meanwhile, third-placed Monaco are just two points behind Marseille. Mika Biereth has been in incredible form since joining from Sturm Graz in January. The Danish international has scored 11 times in nine Ligue 1 games and is already Monaco’s leading scorer this season.

He will be a key figure in their Ligue 1 top four push, along with creative attacking midfielder Maghnes Akliouche. Monaco have also kept two clean sheets in their last three games and seem to win most of the games they should.

That bodes well for their chances to make the Champions League. Currently, the Ligue 1 odds list Monaco at -430 to finish in the top four for a second straight season.

Strong Ligue 1 Top Four Contenders

The Ligue 1 top four odds are even on Nice making the UCL. Evann Guessand has had a breakout campaign.
Nice’s Evann Guessand has had a breakout campaign

After rattling off four straight Ligue 1 wins, Nice are winless in their last two games. They’ll still emerge from the international break in fourth place, two points ahead of fifth-placed Lyon. Nice also looked like they were going to make the top four last season, and in 2021-22, but they fell short both times.

Evann Guessand is having a breakthrough season for Nice, who have lost just one game at home. Coach Franck Haise led Lens to the Champions League a couple of seasons ago and Nice sit at even odds to finish in the Ligue 1 top four.

Lyon are one of Ligue 1’s most in form teams at the moment. They’ve won three straight games and five straight, in all competitions. Rayan Cherki leads both Ligue 1 and the Europa League in assists and he’s starting to fulfill his boundless potential.

One thing that could hurt Lyon in their pursuit of a top four spot is their Europa League campaign. Still, if they win the UEL, which we think they have a decent shot of, they’ll be in the Champions League regardless. Lyon show +120 odds to qualify for the UCL through a top four finish, though.

Lille, who just lost in the Champions League round of 16 to Borussia Dortmund, are within striking distance of a top four place. Lille have conceded fewer goals than any team other than PSG and are just three points behind Nice at the moment. They’re more than capable of closing out the season strongly.

Jonathan David has scored 14 Ligue 1 goals but Lille don’t have reliable secondary options if he gets injured. Still, the best price you can find on Lille to make the Ligue 1 top four is +175.

Ligue 1 Top Four Longshots

Andrey Santos is a big reason for Strasbourg's recent success. They show +1900 Ligue 1 top four odds with eight games to play.
Chelsea’s on loan midfielder Andrey Santos has scored eight goals for Strasbourg this season

The hottest team in Ligue 1 right now not named PSG is Strasbourg. Strasbourg are unbeaten in their last six games and have won five of them. They have the same owners as Chelsea and players on loan from the London club, like midfielder Andrey Santos and goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic have played a huge role in their success.

With eight games to go, they’re just eight points outside of the top four and show +1900 Ligue 1 top four odds.

Lens recently had a stretch of four straight losses and now sit at +5000 odds to make the top four. At eight points outside of the top four, it is difficult to see them making up all of that ground. They’ve scored the fewest goals of any team in Ligue 1’s top half. Plus, they still have games against Lille and Lyon on the road.

Brest surprisingly finished in third last season but it has been difficult for them to juggle Champions League football with Ligue 1 matches. They are 10 points outside of the Ligue 1 top four at the moment. So, it’s no surprise that they are at +25000 odds to make the UCL for a second straight campaign.

Tenth-placed Toulouse are just as close to the relegation zone as they are to the top four. So, don’t expect them to be anywhere near the top four come season’s end. Still, you could put a dollar on them to make the top four, at astronomical +50000 odds.

Strasbourg's precocious winger Dilane Bakwa ranks fourth in Ligue 1 in assists.
Dilane Bakwa ranks fourth in Ligue 1 in assists

From a pure value perspective, it is very hard not to bet on Strasbourg here. They are on a long unbeaten streak and only four points outside of the top four. However, the oddsmakers are only giving them a five percent chance to force their way into the Champions League.

Yes, they have the youngest team in all of Europe’s top five leagues and a relatively inexperienced manager, in Englishman Liam Rosenior. Every outfield player on Strasbourg who has logged over 250 minutes is under 23 years old. They’re not underdogs, though, as the backing of Chelsea owners BlueCo has given them considerable financial power and plenty of critics.

They play well beyond their years and their youth helps them relentlessly press the opposition. Strasbourg have also beaten teams like Lens and Lille in 2025 and are growing in confidence by the week.

Since a scoreless draw on December 8th against Reims, Strasbourg are 8-2-1. During that time they’ve scored 19 Ligue 1 goals and have conceded just six. That is unbelievable form and if they can come anywhere close to keeping it up they can make the Ligue 1 top four.

Some key players along with Petrovic and Santos are Emanuel Emegha, Dilane Bakwa, Diego Moreira, Guela Doue and Sebastian Nanasi. The 6’5″ Emegha has scored 11 times this season, while winger Bakwa ranks fourth in Ligue 1, with seven assists.

Strasbourg also play four of the league’s bottom five teams in the final eight weeks. If Strasbourg can beat the teams in and around the relegation zone and one of Nice or Lyon at home, they’ve got a great shot to make the Ligue 1 top four. At +1900 odds, Strasbourg are our Top Soccer Bet.
