With just five games remaining in the La Liga season, Barcelona lead Real Madrid by four points in the title race. Barcelona have already beaten Real Madrid three times this season, in all competitions. Still, their match on May 11th could very well decide who wins La Liga. While the title race is only between Barça and Real, five teams are in serious danger of suffering La Liga relegation.
While last-placed Valladolid are already mathematically relegated, the other two relegation spots are up in the air. Currently, Leganes and Las Palmas occupy 19th and 18th place, respectively. However, there’s still time for both of them to escape the relegation zone. Especially given just seven points separate 15th place and 19th at the moment.
For a clearer picture of the relegation battle, here’s the bottom half of the La Liga table.
La Liga Relegation: Bottom Half Standings

As we can see, Valladolid can only finish with a maximum of 31 points, confirming their relegation. Meanwhile, Leganes haven’t won a game for two months and are four points from safety.
Las Palmas have won two of their last three matches but are still two points behind 17th-placed Alaves. With seven points through their last four matches, Alaves are doing their best to avoid the drop.
Girona are just three points clear of the relegation zone even though they played in the UEFA Champions League this season. The last team in serious jeopardy of La Liga relegation is Sevilla. They have lost five of their last six matches. Still, the 2023 Europa League champions have a five point cushion.
Now, let’s take a look at the latest La Liga relegation odds.
La Liga Relegation Favorites

Leganes last won on March 2nd and are averaging under one goal per game. Their work is certainly cut out for them to get out of the relegation zone. Four points from safety, they need to win at least a couple of their last five games to have any chance of staying up.
Plus, three of their five remaining matches are away from home, where they’ve put up a 1-8-7 record. Still, they do face Las Palmas and Valladolid in the final two weeks of the season. So, they have an outside chance of staying up.
Regardless, the La Liga relegation odds price them as -700 favorites to go down.
Breakout star Fabio Silva missed Las Palmas‘ 1-0 loss to Athletic Club last Wednesday. However, he is set to return on Saturday against Valencia. Silva, on loan from Wolverhampton Wanderers, has scored 10 goals this season. Las Palmas actually rank in the middle of the pack in goals in La Liga but have the league’s second-worst defense.
Still, there have been reasons for hope in recent weeks as Las Palmas have taken down Atletico Madrid and Getafe. All of their remaining games are against bottom half teams, which means they should pick up a few points over the last few weeks.
Even so, Las Palmas sit at -225 odds to be relegated.
Relegation Contenders

Alaves managed a surprising 10th place finish last season but they haven’t been as fortunate in 2024-25. They’ve relied heavily on Kike for scoring and have found the net twice or more in just two of their last 13 matches as a result.
They face three teams in the European places (Atletico Madrid, Athletic Club, Osasuna) over the last five weeks of the season. That means Las Palmas and Leganes certainly have a chance to leapfrog Alaves, who are in serious danger of relegation.
Currently, the La Liga relegation odds have Alaves at +225.
Girona took La Liga by storm last season en route to an unprecedented third place finish. After losing Savinho, Aleix Garcia, Artem Dovbyk and Yan Couto, things have gone south.
They lost seven of their eight Champions League group stage matches and have picked up just one point over the last five matches. Only three points clear of Las Palmas, Girona also have a legitimate shot to go down to the Segunda Division.
Still, they should pick up three points when they face Valladolid in a few weeks, which would definitely help their cause. Currently, Girona sit at +700 odds to go down.
Relegation Longshots

Sevilla haven’t been relegated to the Segunda Division since 1997 but it’s a real possibility now. Los Nervionenses haven’t won any of their last six games and are five points ahead of Las Palmas, who are in 18th.
Sevilla have home matches against both Leganes and Las Palmas left and those are make or break games. Since changing coaches on April 13th, Joaquin Caparros’ Sevilla have gone 0-1-1. They currently come in at +1200 La Liga relegation odds.
Espanyol have managed three wins in their last five to climb up to 13th place in the La Liga table. However, their only remaining match they’ll absolutely be favored to win is on Matchday 38 against Las Palmas. So, their seven point cushion doesn’t make them completely safe. Still, they display +2500 relegation odds.
Valencia have also silenced critics in recent weeks, picking up the fourth-most points in the league over the last five weeks. They’ve drawn their last two but won the previous three, which includes a win over Real Madrid. They are seven points clear of the relegation zone and Javi Guerra has scored in two of their last three matches.
Overall, Valencia are on an eight game unbeaten streak. We think they have next to no chance of going down but bettors can take that potentiality at +3300 odds.
Getafe are level on points with both Espanyol and Valencia but have lost three straight games. That’s the second-longest active losing streak in the league and their games aren’t exactly easy from here on out. Still, it’d take a lot for them to go down and +5000 La Liga relegation odds seem about right.
Top Soccer Bet

While we think Leganes will find themselves relegated at the end of the campaign, -700 odds to go down aren’t exactly favorable for bettors.
On the other hand, Girona might be in some trouble. Four of their five remaining matches are against teams in contention for European competitions. With four losses in their last five games and no clean sheets since January, they’re nowhere near a guarantee to stay up.
Just three points ahead of 18th-placed Las Palmas, Girona have a much more difficult remaining schedule. Their match against Valladolid is the only time they’ll be favorites to grab all three points from here on out. At +700 La Liga relegation odds to go down to the Segunda Division, Girona are our Top Soccer Bet and certainly a value option to take.
