Betis Going For First La Liga Win of 2024-25
Newly Promoted Leganes Off To Surprising Start
After failing to score in their last four hours of play, Real Betis will be going for their first La Liga win of the 2024-25 season when they take on newly-promoted Leganes on Friday.
Leganes have started off their first La Liga campaign in five seasons with just one loss in four matches. Still, as Leganes go for their first road win of the campaign, this will be their biggest test of the season.
This kicks off a stretch of three straight La Liga home games for Real Betis and coach Manuel Pellegrini won’t tolerate anything less than three points. As we preview Friday’s match, stick around for our Real Betis vs Leganes prediction.

Real Betis Struggling to Score
La Liga Standings:
- 0-2-1 (17th)
Real Betis have failed to win any of their first three matches of the La Liga campaign. In their last match before the international break, Kylian Mbappe struck twice in a 2-0 Real Madrid victory.
Still, Betis have managed back-to-back European wins, in the Conference League Play-off, and just extended forward Aitor Ruibal’s contract.
Los Verdiblancos haven’t scored in La Liga since their first game of the season, and it was defender Marc Bartra who found the net. With Rodri off to Qatar and Nabil Fekir playing in the UAE now, Gio Lo Celso could make his first Betis appearance since he left for Tottenham in 2020.
On-loan Barcelona striker Vitor Roque could also carve out a place in the squad. A few Real Betis players are dealing with injuries heading into this one, including Bartra, Isco, Juanmi and Cedric Bakambu are dealing with injuries.
Once Bakambu returns, Betis will get a boost up top but Los Verdiblancos may have to wait another game or two for him to be fully recovered. Isco is also a creative force and Pablo Fornals will have to pick up the slack as he recovers.
Leganes Face First Major Test
La Liga Standings:
- 1-2-1 (9th)
Leganes entered the first international break of the season in ninth place in La Liga. Leganes’ standings last season were also impressive, as they won La Liga 2, with a 20-14-8 record.
While Leganes picked up a win and a draw in their first two La Liga games since 2020, they’ve failed to score since then.
A week before the transfer window closed, Leganes signed Munir El Haddadi from Las Palmas. It remains to be seen if the tricky Moroccan international will make Borja Jimenez’s starting XI.
Winger Juan Cruz has scored two of Leganes’ three goals this season but he hasn’t yet nailed down a starting spot.
On their last four trips to Seville to take on Real Betis, Leganes have only scored three goals.
Real Betis vs Leganes Prediction, Betting Pick
While Real Betis haven’t won yet this season, two of their three La Liga games have been against teams who finished in the top four last season.
Even with some injury issues on the Betis side, and a slow start to the season, they should be able to get the job done at the Benito Villamarín on Friday. Notably, Pellegrini’s Betis have lost at home just once since March.
They should extend their home winning streak over Leganes to five matches and our Real Betis vs Leganes prediction is Betis to win. The best odds on the US market on a Betis win, at the time of writing, is at Caesars Sportsbook.
We also think this will be a low scoring match, and the over/under goal total implies as much. At the moment, the over/under is set at two goals.
