FIFA Club World Cup Quarterfinals: Best Value Bets

The FIFA Club World Cup has been much more exciting than many expected it to be. With major upsets and high-scoring games, it has been a fun watch thus far despite the controversies. With just eight teams remaining, we’re going to take a closer look at all of the Quarterfinals matchups. Like we did for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, we’ll share our best soccer bet for each match.

We’re guaranteed at least one non-European team in the Semifinal. In the round of 16, Fluminense upset Inter Milan 2-0 while Al Hilal won an extra time thriller against one of the tournament favorites, Manchester City. The two will face off on Friday in an unexpected Quarterfinal matchup and Palmeiras take on Chelsea later that night. On Saturday, PSG face Bayern in the matchup of the round as Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund will clash in a rematch of the 2024 Champions League Final.

FIFA Club World Cup Quarterfinal #1: Fluminense vs Al Hilal

FIFA Club World Cup: Simone Inzaghi's Al Hilal upset Manchester City on Monday and are favorites to defeat Palmeiras in the Quarters.

Fluminense defeated Inter Milan, 2-0, as +450 underdogs, in the round of 16. As they kept shutouts against both Inter and Borussia Dortmund, Fluminense are the real deal. Thiago Silva is a legendary defender and he’s still performing at a very high level for the Brazilian club at 40 years old.

Meanwhile, Al Hilal managed to defeat Manchester City in extra time on Monday. Marcos Leonardo scored twice, including the winner, to unexpectedly send the Saudi club through to the Quarters. Along with the Man City result, Al Hilal drew 1-1 against Real Madrid in the group stage.

Having Yassine Bounou in net is a huge advantage for Al Hilal, who are favorites to advance. Whoever wins will take on the winner of Palmeiras and Chelsea and has a real chance to make the final. I do think it will be Al Hilal that advances, whether it’s normal time, extra time or penalties.

Al Hilal coach Simone Inzaghi has proven to be superb in knockout tournaments. His team should be able to cope with the continued absence of captain Salem Al-Dawsari. Our best soccer bet for this FIFA Club World Cup Quarterfinal is Al Hilal to advance, at -122 odds.

FIFA Club World Cup Quarterfinal #2: Palmeiras vs Chelsea

Palmeiras winger Estevao Willian will face his next club, Chelsea, in the FIFA Club World Cup Quarterfinal on Friday.

It took extra time but Palmeiras took down fellow Brazilian side Botafogo in the round of 16. Now, Estevao Willian’s potential last match as a Palmeiras player is against his new club, Chelsea. After a two hour weather delay, Chelsea managed to defeat Benfica 4-1 in extra time in the round of 16.

Chelsea have already lost to a Brazilian side during the FIFA Club World Cup. They fell 3-1 to Flamengo in the group stage. Regardless, Chelsea, who won the Conference League last month, are favorites to win this one.

Palmeiras have conceded just two goals in four games thus far. However, Chelsea will be, by far, their biggest test. Plus, coach Abel Ferreira has to decide if he’s going to start Estevao. The winger has already made it clear that it has been hard to focus with his impending Chelsea transfer.

Granted they were playing against ten men at the time, but Chelsea clearly has a second gear. The Blues managed to find in extra time against Benfica. Christopher Nkunku, Pedro Neto and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall all scored for Chelsea in a 10 minute span in the 4-1 win. Neto has scored in three straight games and he’s one to watch here.

The Blues will get Nicolas Jackson back from a two-game suspension. Meanwhile, Palmeiras captain Gustavo Gomez is suspended along with defender Joaquin Piquerez. Given the Palmeiras absences and the uncertainty surrounding Estevao, go with Chelsea to win, at +110 odds. New Chelsea signing Joao Pedro is also eligible to play, boosting the Blues’ frontline.

Quarterfinal #3: Paris Saint-Germain vs Bayern Munich

Joao Neves scored twice against Inter Miami in PSG's 4-0 FIFA Club World Cup round of 16 win. Neves has been one of PSG's key players in an incredible 2024-25
Joao Neves has been superb for PSG

This is a blockbuster Quarterfinal matchup between European champions PSG and Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich. The winner of this match will likely be the favorite to go on and win the tournament.

PSG dismantled Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami in the round of 16 and it could have gotten a lot uglier than the 4-0 scoreline. Portuguese midfielder Joao Neves scored twice in the victory. The midfield trio of Neves, Vitinha and Fabian Ruiz remains unparalleled in world football. Meanwhile, Ballon d’Or favorite Ousmane Dembele returned from injury in the round of 16 and could make his first start of the tournament here.

On the other hand, Bayern Munich defeated Flamengo 4-2 in the round of 16 as Harry Kane scored twice. All of Kane, Michael Olise and Jamal Musiala have found the net three times for Bayern but Olise and Musiala’s numbers are skewed by the 10-0 win over semi-professional side Auckland City in the group stage.

Bayern Munich did beat PSG in the Champions League league phase last November but the Parisians have improved a whole since then. Regardless, this is quite a difficult match to predict the result in. One thing to note is that PSG have scored at least twice in eight of their last nine matches. Meanwhile, Bayern conceded twice to Flamengo in the round of 16.

The best soccer bet here is PSG over 1.5 goals at -120 odds.

Quarterfinal #4: Real Madrid vs Borussia Dortmund

Gonzalo Garcia, just 21 years old, scored his third goal of the FIFA Club World Cup to send Real Madrid to the Quarterfinals. Real managed to limit Juventus to just two shots on target in the round of 16. Notably, Xabi Alonso left Rodrygo on the bench for the second time this tournament but Kylian Mbappe returned to make a substitute appearance after a concerning bout with gastroenteritis.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund defeated Monterrey 2-1 in the round of 16 behind two Serhou Guirassy goals. Guirassy was the joint-leading scorer in the Champions League and he’ll be tough for Real Madrid to deal with on Saturday.

While Dortmund went up 2-0 just 24 minutes into their match against Monterrey, they barely survived the ensuing barrage. Also, Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham won’t be able to face his brother Jude on Saturday because of a suspension.

Real seem to be getting better adjusted to Xabi Alonso’s 3-5-2 formation and having a healthy Kylian Mbappe is big. Without many standout bets on the odds board, we think the best value soccer bet in this one is a “No” on Both Teams to Score, at +134 odds.
