He played 44 games with Inter last season and six with Argentina in Copa America, where he was Golden Boot winner. This season, he’s yet to score and Inter Milan haven’t won any of their last three games, in all competitions.

The Nerazzurri lost 2-1 in the Milan Derby last weekend. While Martinez did provide an assist on Federico Dimarco’s equalizer, Inter conceded an 89th minute header. It was their first loss to their rivals in the last seven meetings.

Plus, Nicolo Barella is expected to be out until after the international break after picking up a muscle injury in the Derby. With Martinez not at his best, other Inter Milan players are going to have to step up.
